Pune: CM Eknath Shinde And Deputy CM Fadnavis Pay Respect To Late MLA Laxman Jagtap

Pimpri-Chinchwad, 3rd January 2023: Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis paid their last respects to late MLA Laxman Jagtap at Pimple Gurav.

State Higher and Technical Education Minister and District Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil, Revenue Minister Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, Health Minister Tanaji Sawant, MLA Uma Khapare, Mahesh Landge, Police Commissioner of Pimpri-Chinchwad Vinay Kumar Choubey, PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh, Collector Dr Rajesh Deshmukh, former state minister Vijay Shivtare, and others were present.

“There are very few people who consider the suffering of others as their own, and Laxman Jagtap was one of them,” said Shinde while paying respect to the late MLA.

The Chief Minister said, “Laxman Jagtap worked for the people and was a very popular MLA. He lived a journey from party worker to MLA. Even while undergoing treatment, his devotion to duty was evident while voting in the Legislative Assembly. He was constantly pursuing public interest work in his constituency. He was one of those rare men who were devoted to society. Due to his demise, a void has been created in the society and the party that cannot be filled.”

Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis said, “Laxman Jagtap fought a great battle with cancer. Being a fighter by nature, he never gave up. He was instrumental in the growth of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Pimpri-Chinchwad city. He was known as a very popular MLA due to his connection with the common man. Due to his creative nature, he implemented various projects in the constituency. Due to this, he was seen as a prominent leader on the political stage of the state. MLAs Laxman Jagtap and Mukta Tilak voted even when they were ill during the elections. Today we are deeply saddened by the passing away of a fighter.”

On this occasion, Chief Minister Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis met the Jagtap family. Shankar Jagtap, Vijay Jagtap, Ashwini Jagtap, Aditya Jagtap, Aishwarya Renushe-Jagtap, and Viraj Renushe were present.

Earlier, Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Council, Dr Neelam Gorhe, also visited MLA Laxman Jagtap’s house and paid respect to him.
