Pune: Cocaine Worth Rs Six Lakh Seized From Foreigner In Kondhwa

Kondhwa, 20th January 2023: The Anti-Narcotics Squad of the Crime Branch of Pune police arrested two people, including a youth from Tanzania, who came to sell cocaine in the Kondhwa area. 36 grams 920 mg of cocaine worth Rs 6.25 lakh, mobile phone, totally worth Rs 7.58 lakh were seized from them.

The arrested have been identified as Beka Hamis Fauni (46), currently residing at Dharmashi Signature Society, Saibabanagar, Kondhwa Khurd, and a native of Tanzania, Arshad Ahmed Iqbal Khan (42), a resident of Dharmashi Signature Society, Saibabanagar, Kondhwa Khurd.

Police Constable Nitesh Jadhav of the Crime Branch’s Anti-Narcotics Squad was tipped off that Fauni and Khan were selling cocaine. After that, the police team laid a trap and caught both of them. Items worth Rs 7.58 lakh, like cocaine and mobile sets, were seized from them.

Fauni was earlier arrested by the police in a drug dealing case. Recently he got bail and got out of jail. Under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Amol Zende, Assistant Commissioner Gajanan Tompe, a team of Police Inspector Vinayak Gaikwad, Assistant Inspector Laxman Dhengle, Shailja Jankar, and Manoj Salunke, Maruti Pardhi, Pravin Uttekar, Yogesh Mohite, Vishal Dalvi, and others carried out the operation.
