Pune: Collaboration Meeting Between SPPU and Pune Nagari Sahakari Banks Association Aims at Industry-Academia Integration

Pune, 29th December 2023: A significant meeting was convened to discuss the mutual benefits arising from the collaboration between Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), the Department of Commerce, and The Pune Nagari Sahakari Banks Association Ltd. This collaborative effort seeks to bridge the gap between industry and academia through joint programs designed for Commerce students and Urban Co-operative Bank Employees.

The primary objective of this partnership is to foster knowledge creation, training, and capacity building for both Commerce students and bank employees. The meeting saw the esteemed presence of Vice Chancellor Dr. Suresh Gosavi, Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Parag Kalkar, Registrar Dr. Vijay Khare, and Head of the Department of Commerce Dr. G. Syamala. Accompanying them were officials from the Bank Association, including Chairman Adv. Subhash Mohite, Vice-Chairman Sahebrao Takale, and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Anil Karanjkar.

During the meeting, Vice Chancellor Dr. Suresh Gosavi shared his perspective, stating, “The Banking staff trained by this program should add value to the nation.”
