Pune Collector Orders LPG Cylinder Only Via OTP, Assures Delivery Within 96 Hours
Pune, 16th March 2026: Domestic LPG cylinders in Pune district will be supplied only through an OTP-based verification system and must be delivered to consumers’ doorsteps within 96 hours of booking, District Collector Jitendra Dudi said on Monday.
The directions were issued after a meeting chaired by the collector at the district collectorate on Sunday with representatives of oil marketing companies and LPG distributors operating in the district.
Dudi instructed oil companies and gas distributors to immediately stop direct distribution of cylinders from godowns, gas agency premises or any other locations. He also asked the gas agencies to put up boards outside their offices and storage facilities informing customers that LPG cylinders would be delivered only through OTP verification and within 96 hours of booking.
Gas agencies have also been asked to send SMS alerts to registered customers stating that cylinders will be delivered through OTP verification and advising them not to gather outside agency premises.
He said the police have been instructed to take strict action against anyone attempting to disrupt the LPG distribution process.
