Pune: Collector Suspends License Of Unicorn And Elrow For Flouting Dry Day Rules
Pune, 4th September 2022: The licenses of Club Elrow and rooftop restaurant Unicorn House, Kalyani Nagar, were temporarily suspended for flouting dry day rules and other regulations during Ganeshotsav.
The District Collector has issued notice for dry days during the Ganesh Festival. However, a few pubs and bars continue to sell liquor to their customers during these days.
The State Excise Department raided the two aforementioned restaurants and found them flouting the rules, after which they sent the report to District Collector Dr Rajesh Deshmukh, who temporarily suspended their licences. The notice to the owners of the restaurants included an order to appear for a hearing on 13th September.
The notice issued questioned why the licences should not be permanently cancelled and why action according to Section 82 of the Maharashtra Prohibition Act 1949 should not be taken.
