Pune: Collector’s Visit To Palkhi Route And Palkhi Stays; Instructions To Ensure That Devotees Do Not Face Inconvenience

Pune, 20th May 2023: In the wake of Shri Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi, Collector Dr Rajesh Deshmukh visited the Pune-Saswad-Jejuri-Neera palanquin route passing through Haveli and Purandar taluka and reviewed the preparations there by visiting palanquin bases and resting places.

Collector informed that the administration should ensure that devotees do not face any inconvenience. All facilities like health facilities, adequate stock of medicine, arrangement of mobile toilets, water, electricity, etc should be provided on the Palkhi route on a priority basis.

Along with filling the sides of the Palkhi route, pits and places where water accumulates should be repaired by using sand and other alternatives. Additional reserve pumps should be kept for drinking water schemes in villages where devices will stay. Tankers should be increased. An alternative system should be prepared so that technical difficulties do not occur at any time. Water tanks should be kept wherever necessary on the route, he ordered further.

Dr Deshmukh said that after crossing the Dive Ghat stage, devotees usually take a long rest at the Zendevadi resting place. The administration should contact the neighboring private landowners so that enough space is available for the devotee to rest at that place.

He also directed that generators should be kept as an alternative system. The District Collector also visited the work of the bridge over the Karha River and gave instructions to speed up the work. He also said that planning is underway that the palanquin will pass over the bridge after completing the work of the bridge under any circumstances.

He gave instructions to inspect the boundary wall work of Jejuri staying rooms and ordered to complete the work in time. Dr Deshmukh also inspected the resting places near Borawke Mala, Valhe, and Neera near Saswad. He also said to repair the guard walls of the bridge over the Neera River immediately.

The District Collector gave instructions to repair the resting place near Uruli Devachi police station in Haveli taluka. He also inspected the cement concrete stage erected in the permanent form at Vadki. Interacting with the local villagers, he learned about the problems there.

The ghat should be patrolled in response to complaints of littering in Dive Ghat. Collector Deshmukh also directed that strict action should be taken if such cases are found.

Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Ayush Prasad, Pune Rural Police Superintendent Ankit Goyal, former State Minister Bala Bhegde, Haveli Provincial Officer Sanjay Aswale, Daund-Purandar Sub Divisional Officer Minaj Mulla, Shri Sant Dyandev Maharaj Devasthan Alandi Officer, Haveli Tehsildar Kiran Survase, National Highway Executive Engineer Abhijit Auty and others were present.
