Pune: Couple Robbed In Bopdev Ghat, Woman Attacked With Knife

Kondhwa, 18th August 2021: A couple who went sightseeing in Bopdev Ghat was robbed by a gang of three on August 16 at around 11 pm. The woman was attacked with a knife and currently, she is undergoing treatment at a private hospital.

Based on a complaint from a 29-year-old man from Tadiwala Road, the Kondhwa police station has registered an FIR.

According to police, the complainant owns a tailoring shop. His marriage is fixed with his 27-year-old girlfriend who lives in Kondhwa. Around 5 pm on August 16, he took a friend’s car and went sightseeing in Bopdev Ghat with her. On the way down the ghat to get home, he had stopped the car on the last turn as his girlfriend to answer nature’s call. It was around 11 pm.

Police said that while he was sitting in the car, he heard his girlfriend shouting loudly. He got out of the car and ran towards his girlfriend. He then saw three men fighting with his girlfriend. They snatched the seven-gram gold chain, which he had gifted, from his girlfriend’s neck. She was attacked with a knife on her neck and hand. When he resisted, the robbers beat him. So he gave the wallet to them and they went away.

He admitted the injured woman to a private hospital in Kondhwa and from there she was referred to a hospital near Pune station.
