Pune: COVID Rules Violated At Inauguration Of NCP Office By Ajit Pawar

Pune, 19th June 2021: Deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar inaugurated the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) office in front of Dengale bridge near the PMC building in Shivajinagar. A huge crowd was gathered for the inaugural function and social distancing norms were violated.

The event was supposedly held in the presence of only 50 people yet hundreds of party workers attended it. Seeing this scenario, Deputy CM Pawar expressed his displeasure.

He said, “After coming to this event, I saw the crowd and felt like leaving. However, if I do that, the party workers might be upset. Therefore, I attended the event.”

The convenor of the event NCP city president Prashant Jagtap said, “We tried our best not to gather the crowd at the event. But, after knowing that Ajitdada will come for the event, the party workers came to express their love for him. I apologise to him for this inconvenience.”

On this occasion, Pawar said, “The new office would be a platform for the city’s political, cultural, social and economic development.”

He also told the party workers that, if someone criticizes the government, don’t answer. NCP chief Sharad Pawar and other state-level leaders will talk about it, he said.
