Pune Crime Branch Arrests Two Accused Involved In Murder Of Ex-NCP Corporator In Jejuri

Pune, 9th July 2023: The Anti-Extortion Squad of Pune Police’s Crime Branch has nabbed two assailants from the Deccan area in connection with the murder of a former NCP corporator in Jejuri. They have been handed over to the Jejuri police.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Vanis Prahlad Pardeshi of Guruwar Peth, Pune, and a native of Dhalewadi in Jejuri and Mahadev Vitthal Gurav, also known as Kaka Pardeshi (65) of Dhalewadi, and native of Wajegaon in Phaltan taluka of Satara district.

The victim, the former NCP corporator, was identified as Mahebub Syed Lal Pansare, a resident of Jejuri. He was murdered on 7th July.

Various teams of the Pune Police’s Crime Branch had been conducting combing operations and preventive actions. Acting on information received by ACP Satish Govekar yesterday, the police were alerted that the two main suspects in the murder case of Pansare, would be present in the Deccan area.

Under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police Amol Zende, ACP Satish Govekar, Senior Police Inspector Pratap Mankar, Police Sub-Inspector Mohandas Jadhav and policemen Surendra Jagdale, Ishwar Andhale, Sachin Ahivale, Shankar Sampate, Saidoba Bhojrao, Chetan Apate, Pradip Gade, and Pawan Bhosle of the Anti-Extortion Squad Two, multiple teams were formed.

According to officials, the teams set up a trap in the Deccan area, leading to the successful arrest of the two persons. During the investigation, it was revealed that they were involved in a land dispute with Pansare. They confessed to the crime, revealing that they had enlisted the help of other accomplices.
