Pune Crime Branch Seizes MD Drugs Worth Rs 26 Lakh From Youth Hailing Delhi

Loni Kalbhor, 1st June 2023: Pune City Crime Branch’s Anti-Narcotics Squad-1 recently apprehended a migrant youth involved in the sale of narcotics in the Loni-Kalbhor area.

 

The suspect, identified as Jitendra Satishkumar Dua (40) from Delhi, was caught with a significant quantity of drugs and a four-wheeler. The operation was carried out on May 30, following a tip-off received by policemen Vishal Shinde and Yogesh Mohite. Dua was arrested near the Prayagdham Trust Charitable Hospital bus stop on Uruli-Kanchan Road.

 

During the arrest, the police discovered a substantial amount of narcotics in Jitendra’s possession. They seized 111 grams of Mephedrone (M.D.), valued at Rs 20 lakh, along with 610 grams of Banta worth Rs 6.1 lakh. Additionally, the police confiscated Rs.4,000 in cash, two electronic weighing forks worth Rs 2,000, and three mobile phones valued at Rs. 10,000 and four wheeler worth Rs 10 lakhs.

 

This operation was conducted as part of the special campaign on narcotics and gutkha implemented by the Special Inspector General of Police (Law and Order), Mumbai. The campaign, which will continue until June 15, aims to curb smuggling and illegal activities related to narcotics.

 

The Anti-Narcotics Squad-1, led by Inspector Vinayak Gaikwad and Inspector Shailaja Jankar, acted on the instructions and orders given by the Commissioner of Police Retesh Kumaar. The team included police personnel Yogesh Mohite, Vishal Shinde, Sujit Wadekar, Pandurang Pawar, Dnyaneshwar Ghorpade, Pravin Uttekar, Vishal Dalvi, Sandeep Shirke, Rahul Joshi, Sandesh Kakade, Nitesh Jadhav, Sachin Malve, and Rehana Shaikh.
