Pune, 28th August 2022: With only few days left for Ganeshotsav, people are thronging markets to buy essential items for the festival. Due to the increase in the number of people coming for shopping, there is a constant traffic jam in this area. Being a holiday, Sunday is going to be more crowded than other days of the week.

Mandai, Tulshibagh, Kapdganj, Bohri Ali and electronic goods markets will witness major congestion and crowding as there were restrictions on celebrating Ganeshotsav for the last two years due to Corona.

However, this year, as all the restrictions have been removed, preparations have started to celebrate the festival with great enthusiasm. Citizens thronged Mandai, Tulshibagh area on Saturday to buy decorations and worship materials for Ganeshotsav. Due to this, the traffic on Bajirao Road, Lakshmi Road, Shivaji Road and Galli Bola in the central part was disrupted. Due to a large number of vehicles on the road, the people travelling through the area had to suffer from traffic jams. Queues of vehicles were seen in the Mandai area, adding to the chaos in the evening. The same situation will take place tomorrow with Sunday being a holiday.

There are many shops in Kapadganj, Bohri Ali and other areas for the decorative materials required for Ganeshotsav. Hence, there was a rush to buy these items. Among those who come for shopping, the number of people who come with four-wheelers is also large. However, after the parking lot in the Mandai area is full, there is no space available for them to park their cars and vehicles try to find other parking spaces hence they are adding to the problem.
