Pune-Daund Local Train Service Likely To Start Soon
Pune 21st Sept 2023: The long pending demand of passengers travelling between Pune and Daund to start a local train service on this route is likely to be fulfilled soon as the railway officials are working on this direction and if all goes well, the service is likely to be introduced in the next two months.
According to officials, the Pune division of the railways will get two Electric Multiple Units (EMU) in the next few days and the trial between Pune and Daund is likely to be completed by September end. Once the trial is completed, the assessment will be conducted to find out scope for improvement and changes needed. If everything goes normal and the trial turns out to be successful, the local service is likely to be introduced on the route within the next two months.
The passengers in this route have been demanding to start the local service for a long time as a large number of people from Daund and other areas that fall in the line of this route travel to Pune city everyday. The local train will also benefit the travellers from Hadapsar and adjoining areas as the train service will reduce their travel time since they will not have to remain stuck in the heavy traffic jam reported on the way that leads to city areas.
