Pune: Dead Body Of COVID Patient Handed Over To Someone Else At District Hospital Aundh
Aundh, 12th April 2021: A shocking case has come to light in the District Government Hospital, Aundh, where the body of a 90-year-old woman, who was COVID19 positive, was handed over to someone else. The hospital administration initially claimed to have handed over the body to the right relatives. However, after going to the root of the matter, the hospital administration has said that it will investigate and take action against the culprits.
According to the information received, Rakhmabai Jadhav was suffering from Coronavirus disease (Covid19) and her health started to deteriorate. She passed away during the treatment. The woman’s body was then sent to the morgue. The next day, Rakhmabai’s son Deepak Jadhav and daughter-in-law Maya Jadhav reached the hospital. They were shocked to see the body handed over to them because it was of someone else.
When asked about this, the hospital said, “Two elderly women died at the hospital at night. Both the bodies were kept in the morgue. One body was identified and taken away by relatives.”
The hospital administration claimed that the other body belonged to Rakhmabai.
Preparation for DNA test
The relatives, who were disturbed by the hospital administration’s response, said, “How can we make a mistake in identifying the mother who took care of me since childhood. How can such a serious mistake be ignored?”
The hospital administration then woke up and has ordered an inquiry. They also assured that strict action would be taken if anyone was found guilty in the case. Fingerprints and DNA tests are being prepared to find out the truth.
