Pune: Deliberate Fire in Charholi Damages Five Vehicles, Results in Loss of Over 10 Lakhs

Charholi Budruk, 8th January 2024: In a shocking incident, five vehicles, including two cars, were deliberately set ablaze on Saturday midnight at Tanish Pearls Society in Charholi Budruk, Pimpri Chinchwad. The incident has left the community in shock, and authorities are actively investigating the matter.

Nitin Shivaji Jawak, a resident of Tanish Pearls Society, Charholi Budruk, aged 33, reported the incident to the Dighi Police Station. A formal complaint has been registered against Devendra Gopal Tapkir, another resident of Charholi Budruk, in connection with the intentional fire.

According to the police report, the accused, Tapkir, allegedly removed the petrol pipe from a two-wheeler parked in the Tanish Pearls Society parking lot and ignited the vehicle. The fire quickly spread, engulfing three two-wheelers and two cars in its path. The estimated loss from the incident is reported to be around 10 lakh 40 thousand rupees. Furthermore, the building’s plaster and drainage pipeline have also sustained damage due to the fire.
