Pune: Demand for Extortion from MLA Madhuri Misal

Pune, 25th September 2022: A shocking case of a extortion demand of five lakh rupees has come to light by sending a message to MLA Madhuri Misal’s public relations mobile phone number.

In this case, former corporator Deepak Dhondiba Misal (56), resident of Camp, Pune, has filed a complaint with Bibwewadi Police Station. Based on that, the police have registered a case against Imran Sameer Sheikh of Ghorpadigaon, Pune.

The police informed on Sunday that this incident took place between 18 and 23 September.

According to the police, the accused sent messages on the mobile phone of the complainant Deepak Misal and his sister-in-law MLA Madhuri Misal’s contact number for public relations. Sometimes he sent messages demanding Rs 2 lakh, Rs 3 lakh and sometimes Rs 5 lakh. At first Misal ignored such messages. After that, on another mobile number apart from this, he threatened to kill them if he did not pay.

After that, Deepak Misal filed a complaint with the police. After that, Police have informed that a case has been registered under Section 386 and Section 66C of the IT Act.

Investigating Officer Police Inspector (Crime) Anita Hivarkar said that Deepak Misal, brother in law of MLA Madhuri Misal, has been threatened with death by demanding ransom. MLA Madhuri Misal’s mobile number for public relations has been used for that.
