Pune, 4th June 2026 : The Deputy Labour Commissioner of Pune has cautioned job seekers against falling prey to fraudulent employment offers, amid reports of financial scams targeting unemployed youth and apprenticeship candidates in the district.

Officials said that with industrialisation creating more employment opportunities in Pune district, complaints have been received about individuals and agencies allegedly luring job aspirants with promises of training programmes and permanent jobs and then extracting money from them. Authorities have also taken note of incidents where some companies have shut down operations without prior notice to employees.

The Labour Department has urged unemployed youth, apprenticeship candidates and other job seekers not to pay any money to consultants, agents or intermediaries for securing government or private-sector jobs.

The Deputy Labour Commissioner advised candidates to verify the authenticity and credentials of a company before accepting any employment offer. Job seekers have also been asked to exercise caution while responding to recruitment advertisements and employment-related communications.

The department has appealed to workers and job aspirants facing issues related to labour laws or employment practices to contact the Office of the Deputy Labour Commissioner, Pune district, for assistance and guidance.
