Vishrantwadi/Dighi, 15th April 2025: A significant power outage has affected the Dighi area, including Adarsh Nagar and Bharat Mata Nagar, following a cable fire near Pathan Baba Dargah on Alandi Road. The fire caused 7 to 8 power cables to burn, resulting in the shutdown of both the Dighi and VSNL feeders.

The power disruption has left residents without electricity since 3 a.m. this morning. According to an official from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL), the fire, which is believed to have been caused by a garbage fire, has severely damaged the power lines.

“Eight power lines have burnt due to the fire, and we are working to restore the supply. It will take approximately two more hours to get the power back on,” the MSEDCL official told Punekar News.

Efforts to restore electricity are underway, with residents hoping for a swift resolution to the ongoing outage.
