Pune: Disagreement Arises Between District Administration Regarding Purandar Airport; Commencement During Diwali May Come To An Halt
Pune, 14th October 2022: While the collector’s office expressed the possibility that the land acquisition notification for the planned international airport at Purandar would be started around Diwali, the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), on Thursday (October 13) however, said that the necessary proposal along with the report from the district administration had not yet been received and the land acquisition notification would be missed by Diwali.
Therefore, the airport has caused a stir at the local level.
The Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC) was appointed as the Airport Special Planning Authority. However, now the state government has proposed a multi-purpose cargo transportation and storage centre (multimodal logistics hub) along with the international airport. Therefore, land acquisition has been ordered as per the MIDC Act.
Divisional Commissioner Saurabh Rao ordered the MADC and the district administration to transfer the details of the action taken so far regarding the project to the MIDC. Accordingly, the local authorities of MADC have given the details of their proceedings to MIDC.
However, on Thursday, the MIDC said that the land acquisition notification cannot be issued around Diwali as a detailed report has not yet been received from the district administration.
Praveen Salunke, Land Acquisition Coordination Officer, Collector’s Office informed, “According to the order of the Divisional Commissioner, the report of the action taken by the district administration has been sent to the MIDC.
Accordingly, further action will be taken by MIDC itself.”
As per the instructions given in the senior level meeting, the details like village maps, group number-wise notified area, village-wise area, etc have been received from MADC. These details has been forwarded to the higher office of MIDC. However, the information regarding the proposal contemplating village land, land rates, affected area-wise report, etc has not yet been received from the district administration.
It has been said from the collector’s office that as soon as the detailed information report is received from the sub-divisional officer of Purandar taluka, it will be sent to the MIDC.
Sanjeev Deshmukh, Regional Officer, MIDC said, “We are waiting for this detailed information and as soon as this information is received, it will be sent to the headquarters of MIDC and further action will be taken.”
