Pune District: 5408 New COVID Cases, 32 Deaths Reported Today

Pune, 21 March 2021: A total of 5408 fresh Coronavirus disease (COVID19) positive cases were reported today in the Pune district. Also, 2531 patients got discharged from hospitals while 32 people died today.

Dr Bhagwan Pawar, District Health Officer (DHO), said that to date the total number of COVID cases has reached 4,69,478. Out of this, 4,20,966 patients have recovered and discharged from hospitals, while 9,569 people have died. There are about 39,112 active patients undergoing treatment in different hospitals and in-home isolation. Most of the patients are from Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) area. Till now 26,40,533 people have been tested in the district.

The 4,69,478 patients include 2,35,394 from Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) area; 1,22,365 from Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC); 7868 from Cantonment areas; 80,568 are from Rural areas, and 23,283 from municipal council (Nagar Parishad) areas in the district.
