Pune: District Collector Orders Temporary Recruitment At Primary Health Centers

Pune, 7th March 2025: District Collector Jitendra Dudi has directed the Health Department to implement a time-bound action plan for the temporary recruitment of staff at Primary Health Centers (PHCs). The decision aims to enhance healthcare services in rural areas and ensure the availability of essential medical resources.

Dudi issued this directive during a review meeting of various health department schemes. Present at the meeting were Sassoon General Hospital Dean Dr. Eknath Pawar, District Surgeon Dr. Nagnath Yampalle, District Health Officer Dr. Sachin Desai, taluka health officers, medical superintendents, and other health department officials.

Emphasizing the need for efficient healthcare services in rural hospitals and PHCs, Dudi stressed that all essential medical equipment, drug stock, and treatment facilities must be readily available for patients. He instructed taluka health officers to conduct regular assessments of their respective areas to ensure the smooth functioning of healthcare services.

Additionally, the Collector suggested preparing proposals for staff training, hospital premises beautification, implementation of a dress code for healthcare workers, provision of necessary amenities, and procurement of medical supplies. He assured that funds for these initiatives would be allocated through the district’s annual health plan. He also confirmed that rural hospitals would be equipped with medical resources similar to those available at Sassoon General Hospital.
