Pune: District’s First Integrated Development Plan Meeting Held
Pune, 24th December 2022: The first integrated development plan for the district meeting was presided over by the Divisional Commissioner.
According to the collector’s office, the first attempt to implement such a concept will be made in Pune. Local self-government bodies are working in their area of work to complete different ambitious projects and development works according to the perspective of the development of the city and rural areas.
However, for the first time, steps are being taken to prepare an integrated district development plan from the point of view of holistic development of the entire district. As a result, the Divisional Commissionerate has been planning for the past few days. A meeting with the District Collector, Planning Officer of the Authority, Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Commissioner, and others has been scheduled for Monday, 26th December, in Pune.
Divisional Commissioner Saurabh Rao is in charge of organising the meeting. Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Commissioner, Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad, Collector, District Planning Officer, and Municipal Commissioner of Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) will plan further.
Although the central and state government plans and development works were the same, there was a difference between the economic planning and the development works resulting from it. Plans are developed through the provision of separate development funds from the Municipal Corporation for city development. PMRDA, on the other hand, has begun developing separate Development Plans (DP), while through the Zilla Parishad, basic facilities along with other public works are done at the rural level through the District Planning Committee.
From the perspective of the district’s overall development, Divisional Commissioner Rao intends to develop an integrated district development plan. This means that at the meeting on Monday, it will be discussed whether or not it can be done or how it can be done in coordination with expert officers and private organisations. According to the collector’s office, the state’s first attempt to implement such a concept will be made in Pune.
