Pune: Dr. Vilas Adhav Inspires Freshers at D. Y. Patil College Akurdi Orientation Event

Akurdi, 4th July 2025: Dr. D. Y. Patil Unitech Society, Dr. D. Y. Patil Arts, Commerce and Science College, Akurdi, organised a ‘welcome ceremony’ for the students admitted to the first year of their degree in Arts and Science on 4 July 2025.

The chief guest for this ceremony was Dr. Vilas Adhav, Director and Head of the Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension, Savitribai Phule Pune University. While giving guidance in this ceremony, Dr. Adhav expressed the view that while pursuing college education, students should not only gain knowledge but also work for the tribal class as a social responsibility. He also expressed the view that all branches of education should be studied.

Initially, while introducing the program, the Principal of the college, Dr. Mohan Vaman, explained the purpose and objective of this program and informed the students about the activities that the college is implementing throughout the year.  Also, the Head of Science Branch, Dr. Vijay Gade, told the students about the success stories achieved by the students of the Arts and Science Faculty in different fields so far.

The program was coordinated by Prof. Bhagwat Deshmukh and the vote of thanks was given by Dr. Minal Bhosale.

This program was organized under the guidance of the President of the organization, Dr. P. D. Patil, Vice President Dr. Bhagyashreetai Patil, Secretary Dr. Somnath P. Patil, Treasurer Dr. Rohini Patil, Principal Dr. Mohan Vaman. Dr. Mukesh Tiwari, Dr. Vijay Gade, Dr. Minal Bhosale, Prof. Bhagwat Deshmukh, Prof. Karishma Syed, Prof. Satish Thakar, Prof. Khalid Sheikh, Prof. Rohit Varvadkar, Manisha Pawar Madam, Nilesh Shinde and all other professors and non-professors participated in the organisation of this program.

It was an eye-opening session for the youth.
