Pune: Due To Ganeshotsav, Bus Fares Go Beyond Reach Of Common People

Pune, 27th August 2022: In the wake of Ganeshotsav, bus fares have gone beyond the reach of common people. Where Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) tickets are Rs 500, private bus tickets are Rs 2,500. Due to this, passengers have to travel by paying more money for tickets.
The rates of ST are minimal as they are for any festival, while the travel drivers increase their rates and rob the passengers on this occasion.
Pune has a large number of people who come from all over the Maharashtra state to study and work. They go to their native places during festivals such as Ganeshotsav and Diwali. But since every year they have to pay for these private trips, the administration needs to pay serious attention to this. Bus-travels are crowded on this route.
There is a large number of people going to Marathwada, Vidarbha along with Konkan from Pune. Special buses will be released from State Transport (ST) for Konkan and other areas. Still, many people book private bus travel tickets. But, if the date of travel is included during the festival, automatically the ticket price is seen to be higher.
