Pune Fire Brigade Officers, Jawans Felicitated With Safe India Hero Plus Award

Pune, 26th August 2022: Many fire officers and jawans of Maharashtra were felicitated with the “Safe India Hero Plus Award” by Safe Tech at Hotel Taj Mahal, Mumbai. This includes two officers of the Pune fire brigade, one driver and four firemen.

A few days ago, when five people on a four-wheeler were trapped in the river after the spillage of the Khadakwasla dam in Pune, Erandwana fire officer Rajesh Jagtap, driver Dnyaneshwar Khedekar and jawans Kishore Bane, Dilip Ghadshi performed excellent work and pulled them out safely from the water while Kondhwa fire officer Sameer Sheikh and jawan Sopan Kamble was felicitated for their outstanding performance in a major fire at a godown in Pargenagar in April.

Fireman Nilesh Mahajan was awarded for performing his duty in the control room and coordinating with other departments, taking higher education at various levels such as engineering, science, business administration, and law, and bringing the excellent performance of the jawans to the public through publicity. He was given a special honour for this reason.

Ganesh Sonawne, chief officer of the fire services, has expressed his pride by appreciating all the firemen and soldiers.
