Pune University chowk flyover demolition work begins to make way for Pune Metro

Pune, July 14, 2020: A committee has been appointed to coordinate the work of demolition of the flyover at the Pune University chowk and E-Square Chowk. The work will be reviewed daily till the bridge is demolished said, Shivajinagar MLA Siddharth Shirole.

 

The demolition work of the bridge started today (Tuesday) morning. MLA Shirole visited the place and held discussions with Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) Commissioner Suhas Divase, Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Dr Sanjay Shinde, Assistant Commissioner (Traffic) Surendra Deshmukh, PMRDA Chief Engineer Vivek Kharwadkar, and other officials.

 

“There should be coordination among the officers and contractors of all the departments concerned for the planned and timely completion of the flyover, officials can let me know if there are any problems in maintaining coordination. I will try my best to solve the issues. If we have good coordination, this work can be done in time”, said MLA Shirole. He further said that the efforts would be made to complete the demolition work within 14 days.

 

“The safety of the citizens will be closely monitored until the flyover is demolished, and a new one is constructed. I will continue to pursue the work”, informed MLA Shirole.
