Pune, 15th December 2023: Indian Yoga has been taken to the global level by Prime Minister Narendra Modi through his tireless efforts. Ayurveda is a sustainable Indian science and has the power to cure chronic diseases. Prime Minister’s efforts to make Ayurveda accessible to the world will be successful, said Sunil Deodhar, former national secretary of the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP).

Deodhar was speaking at the launch of the book “Hope, Care & Healing” in Pune, which contains the thoughts of 50 cancer and other chronic disease patients, treated by Vaidya Yogesh Bendale, whose lives have been transformed with the help of Ayurveda. The book was launched by Deodhar and Dr. Shekhar Mande, former director of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), who presided as the chief guest on the occasion.

A short film, directed by Sharvi Girish Kulkarni and featuring actors from Marathi cinema, was also screened, and presented, which looks at various aspects such as the patient’s family, relatives, and society’s perspective towards cancer patients.

Deodhar said, “India has a treasure trove like Ayurveda. After Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister of India, a separate ministry was established for this purpose. Through this medium, efforts are underway to take Ayurveda to the global level. Vaidya Yogesh Bendale has done the work of researching Ayurveda and validating it with modern science. It is a matter of pride that more than 40 medicinal drugs researched by him have been awarded international patents.”

Dr. Shekhar Mande said, “Production of a short film for public awareness about Ayurveda is an innovative initiative and will help to reach the importance of Ayurveda to the public through this medium. There is a need to increase awareness about Ayurveda by producing more such short films.”

Vaidya Yogesh Bendalale said, “There are many examples of successful treatment of Ayurveda even on patients who do not get cured with modern medicines and advanced technology. There is a need for all Ayurveda experts and physicians to come together to gain global recognition for Ayurveda. There are many misconceptions in people’s minds about Ayurveda and everyone should try to remove them.”

The program began with the lighting of a lamp. Vaidya Vinita Bendale gave the introduction. Vaidya Ishaani Bendale and Rama Bendale conducted the proceedings.
