Mumbai/Pune, 16th February 2026: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has directed the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) to induct Asawari Jagdale, daughter of a victim of the Pahalgam terror attack, into government service as a special case, officials said.

Asavari is the daughter of Santosh Jagdale, a resident of Pune who lost his life in the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. Following the incident, Shinde had met the bereaved family and assured them of financial support, including assistance in securing government employment for Asawari.

Acting on that assurance, the deputy chief minister on Monday spoke over the phone with municipal commissioner Naval Kishore Ram and instructed him to call Asawari for a meeting and create a suitable post in the civic body matching her educational qualifications. He said the state government would approve her appointment on compassionate grounds as a special case.

Officials indicated that the process to formally induct Asawari Jagdale into government service will be completed soon.
