Pune: Elderly Pedestrian Fatally Struck by PMPML Bus In Kondhwa
Pune, 3oth June 2023: A 76-year-old man, who was out for his routine morning walk, was struck by a PMPML bus near Reliance Fresh Mart on Salunkhe Vihar Road in Kondhwa. The unfortunate incident occurred around 7 am, claiming the life of Bipin Jasvantrai Dave.
According to the police, Dave was crossing the road when the PMPML bus collided with him. Shockingly, the driver of the bus did not stop at the scene and fled from the spot. Hetav Dave (44), the son of the deceased, promptly lodged a First Information Report (FIR) with the police, outlining the details of the hit-and-run incident.
The collision caused severe injuries to Bipin Dave, and despite immediate medical attention, he succumbed to his injuries. In response to the incident, the police have filed a case against the unidentified PMPML driver under sections 279 and 304 (a) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), along with sections 184 and 119/177 of the Motor Vehicle Act. The investigation is underway to apprehend the responsible driver and bring them to justice.
