Pune: Elderly Woman Fatally Struck by Shivshahi Bus in Swargate
Pune, 19th January 2024: An elderly woman pedestrian lost her life in a collision with a Shivshahi bus at Jedhe Chowk, Swargate, Pune.
The Swargate police registered a case against the bus driver, identified as Karan Prakash Bahadur (32) of Ambegaon Pathar.
The deceased, identified as 75-year-old Kasturibai Ratanlal Rathod, was crossing the road at Jedhe Chowk when the unfortunate incident occurred. Rathod’s granddaughter, Sonali Ravindra Pujari (33) of Upper Indiranagar, Bibvewadi, lodged a formal complaint at the Swargate Police Station.
The accident took place when Kasturibai, having left the square, was in the process of crossing the road. It was at this moment that she was struck by the Shivshahi bus. Sustaining serious injuries in the collision, she succumbed to her injuries before receiving medical attention.
