Viman Nagar, 19th January 2024: Pune Airport is currently under scrutiny as disgruntled travelers take to social media to vent their frustrations over a range of issues, including flight delays, inadequate services, and subpar facilities.

One distressed traveler expressed disappointment on Twitter, stating, “Dear Pune Airport and IndiGo, extremely disappointed with the overcrowded conditions at Pune Airport. Lack of assistance, non-functional AC and fans in waiting areas, and unhelpful staff responses have made the experience highly unpleasant.”

Another frustrated flyer urged the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and Minister of Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia to take action against airlines, tweeting, “DGCA & Jyotiraditya Scindia, how about levying further fines on IndiGo and some of the other airlines for blatantly violating the refreshment & refund rules for delayed flights.”

An additional complaint targeted the overall airport experience, as a traveler tweeted, “Airports Authority of India, Pune Airport, someone clearly said the airport feels like a railway station. Complete chaos. Flight scheduled at 9 pm but delayed to 2 am. Good that we were allowed to go to aeromall. At 1 am, came for check-in, and it’s like a poultry farm. Seats are so soiled, can’t sit.”

Infrastructure concerns were also raised, with one traveler expressing dismay, “Disappointed at the state of infra at Pune Airport, broken tiles, damaged pathways.”

Another traveler highlighted the time-consuming processes, tweeting, “Takes one full hour to check in baggage and security at Pune airport.”

Seeking attention from authorities, a traveler addressed Minister of Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia directly, stating, “Ministry of Civil Aviation, Jyotiraditya Scindia, sir, need your attention at Pune Airport. The new parking system and Cab service experience is very painful. Passengers are forced to go through a horrendous experience at the arrival terminal wasting hours. Parking plaza is very inconvenient and unplanned.”

These tweets collectively underscore the urgency for improvements in Pune Airport’s services and infrastructure to enhance the overall travel experience for passengers.
