Pune, January 1, 2021: “Elgar Parishad was held in 2017 in Pune. The incident (at Koregaon Bhima) that took place after that discredited our program. But even then we are going to work to convey our thoughts to every person. For this, we sought permission to conduct an Elgar Parishad at Ganesh Kala Krida Rangmanch on December 31. But it has been rejected and now we are going to hold an Elgar Parishad on January 30 at Kala Krida Manch. But if the police refuse permission, we will conduct it on the streets”, said retired justice BG Kolse Patil.

He said that politics should revolve around food, clothing, shelter, health and good education. “We have been fighting for this for the last several years. That’s what we’re doing. But politics revolves around Hindu-Muslim, love jihad, caste and religion. This is wrong and we are working to get the people to get their basic rights through the Elgar Parishad,” he said.

He further added, “False accusations were levelled against us after the incident that took place after the Elgar Parishad three years ago. The person with whom our name was added we have never met. I have told this to the investigating agency before and am still saying the same today.”

I will not meet Sharad Pawar

“Sharad Pawar had said in a public program that if I was the Chief Minister, I would have suspended the Pune Police Commissioner. The Elgar case was wrongly investigated. Pawar knows that false charges have been filed. Still, the police and government are not allowed to take the Elgar Parishad. Our activist met Sharad Pawar regarding the current overall situation. But I will not meet him,” Kolse Patil said.
