Pune: Employee Steals Gold Jewelry Worth Rs 12 Lakh in Pimpri, Case Registered

Pimpri, 8th May 2024: An employee of a jewellery shop breached the trust of his employer by stealing jewellery worth more than Rs 12 lakh in Pimpri Chinchwad. The accused employee, a native of Rajasthan, committed this act on March 7, 2024, at Ishwari Jewelers in Pimpri.

Mahesh Ashok Khemchandani, aged 40 and a resident of Tapovan Mandir Road, Pimpri, complained to the Pimpri Police Station. A case has been registered against Ramchandra Das, also known as Pramod, aged 33, and a native resident of Pali, Rajasthan.

According to police, the complainant owns a jewellery shop in Pimpri where he hired the accused 4 years ago. Over time, the accused was promoted to the manager position of the jewellery shop. However, on March 4th, the accused stole 22 carats, and 197 grams of gold jewellery worth Rs. 11,94,680, along with cash amounting to Rs. 12,800, totalling Rs. 12,07,480, without the complainant’s knowledge. The accused, a native of Rajasthan, is suspected to have fled there.

Pimpri Police have registered a case against the accused Das under IPC Section 381 (theft by clerk or servant of property in possession of master). Police Sub Inspector Raikar from Pimpri Police Station is further investigating this matter.
