Pune: Ex-CRPF Jawan Dies in Alandi Traffic Jam During Medical Emergency
Alandi, 29th April 2026: A former CRPF personnel died in Alandi after being caught in severe traffic congestion during a medical emergency, raising concerns over traffic management in the area.
According to reports, the ex-serviceman, who had served for over two decades, fell ill while on the road. However, heavy traffic and the absence of effective traffic control delayed timely medical assistance. His wife and daughter reportedly attempted to clear the way by moving ahead of vehicles, but the congestion proved fatal.
The incident has sparked public anger, with residents blaming poor planning, illegal parking and administrative lapses. Locals said traffic congestion in Alandi has become a recurring problem, particularly during peak hours and religious gatherings.
Residents have demanded strict action against unauthorised parking and improved traffic management to prevent such incidents in the future. Questions have also been raised about the preparedness of local authorities to handle emergencies in high-traffic areas.
