Pune: Ex-Police Inspector Hospitalized After Brutal Attack In Wanwadi
Wanwadi, 23rd December 2023: A retired police inspector faced a brutal attack near Samvidhan Chowk in Pune’s Wanwadi area on Friday night, resulting in his admission to a local hospital for treatment. The incident occurred between 8:30 pm and 9 pm on Friday.
Complainant Isha Shaikh (56) stated to the police that her husband failed to enter into a lease agreement for a hotel business named Nature Agro Tourism, situated at Kakade Maidan, Near Samvidhan Chowk, Wanwadi, Pune, and did not make the necessary payment. As a result, the accused, Pramod Kakade, allegedly attempted to kill Wazir Sheikh by striking him three or four times with a stone on his face, causing severe injuries due to the outstanding payment.
According to DCP (Zone 5) R Raja, the injured Wazir Shaikh (retired police inspector) and the accused Pramod Kakade are acquainted with each other, and the accused has a habit of consuming alcohol. The crime is believed to have occurred as a result of a financial transaction dispute between the accused and the injured, involving a beating in the process. No other details have emerged thus far, and further investigation is being conducted by officials from Wanwadi Post Station.
An attempt to murder case has been registered against the accused.
