Pune, 28th June 2023: During a Cabinet meeting chaired by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, an important decision was made to address the mounting challenges faced by the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate. Recognizing the impact of rapid urbanization, industrialization, rising vehicular accidents, and increasing crime rates, the government granted approval for the creation of three crucial positions: one Additional Commissioner of Police and two Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP).

The decision comes in response to the growing scope of work within the jurisdiction of Pimpri-Chinchwad Police, where the existing resources were deemed insufficient to effectively tackle the evolving security landscape. The move aims to bolster the capabilities of the police force, enabling them to better serve and protect the community in the face of these emerging challenges.
