Pune: Extension Officer Of Panchayat Samiti Held While Taking Bribe In Vadgaon Maval, Case Registered

Pune 6th Oct 2023: The Anti-Corruption Bureau officials have arrested an extension officer working with the Panchayat Samiti in Vadgaon Maval while accepting a bribe of Rs 40,000. The accused identified as Ankush Kisan Khandekar (57) was taken into custody while he was accepting the bribe amount.

According to ACB officials, the complainant works as a site manager at Jagruti Enterprises and his company was given a contract to carry out works of Solar Street Lights at Lohagad Fort. A tender was also given to the firm at Rs 01,44,320 and 18% GST and the officials were awaiting the start work order from the concerned officials. The accused asked to pay Rs 40,000 bribe to get a start work order after which the complainant reached out to ACB to lodge a complaint.

The ACB team after verifying the details laid a trap and the accused was taken into custody while accepting the bribe amount. A case under relevant sections has been registered at Vadgaon Maval Police Station and further investigation in the case is underway.
