Seven Dead And 46 Injured In Major Fire Reported In Mumbai
Mumbai 6th Oct 20023: A total of seven people have lost their lives while over 46 of them were rescued alive in a major fire reported in a building at Goregaon in Mumbai in the wee hours on Friday. A total of 39 people who were rescued from the fire incident site have sustained burn injuries and they have been rushed to HBT and Cooper hospitals for treatment. Two of them are reported to be critical and are being treated at the hospital, said officials.
According to officials, the incident was reported at around 3 am at Jay Bhavani building located on the Mahatma Gandhi Road near Azad Maidan in Goregaon. The fire brigade teams and local police were immediately rushed to the spot and the fire was extinguished at 6:54 am. The fire was reported in the ground floor of the four-storey building and later it spread in the other parts of the building. More details are awaited.
