Pune: Failed Engineering Students In Maharashtra Granted Unique Opportunity For Academic Progression

Pune, 18th August 2023: A significant respite is on the horizon for students facing academic setbacks in engineering. The Department of Higher and Technical Education, Maharashtra, has unveiled a one-of-a-kind provision aimed at supporting students who have encountered failure during the first and second years of their diploma course within the academic year 2023-24.
This exceptional measure enables these students to address their pending coursework and move forward to the subsequent semester or year.
Minister Chandrakant Patil conveyed this crucial update via a tweet, shedding light on the far-reaching impact of this decision. This opportunity will directly benefit approximately 58,000 students. Patil emphasized that the regulatory council of the Maharashtra State Technical Education Board, recognizing the distinctive circumstances faced by engineering students, has enacted this decision with their best interests in mind.
Under this initiative, students who have not successfully advanced during their initial and second years of the degree program will receive a singular chance to fulfill their curriculum requirements for the upcoming semester or academic year in 2023-24.
