Pune: Fake MLA Stickers On Cars Land Three In Trouble In Pimpri Chinchwad; Three Booked In Two Separate Cases
Pimpri Chinchwad, 14th September 2026: Pimpri Chinchwad police have registered cases against three persons for allegedly displaying fake Maharashtra MLA logos on vehicles to gain financial benefits and VIP privileges.
In the first case, a case was registered against Krishna Govind Ambar, 26, a resident of Moshi, and Malati Mahadev Chavan, a resident of Bhosari. Police constable Suresh Dnyanoba Shinde, 52, attached to the Bhosari traffic division, lodged the complaint.
According to police, during a vehicle check on the Nashik-Pune Road, a black Toyota Fortuner was found displaying a logo reading “Hon. MLA, Maharashtra State Legislative Assembly” on its front and rear windshields without any legal permission.
Police said the fake logo was being used to create the impression that the occupants were elected representatives and avail themselves of benefits and privileges associated with MLAs. Further investigation is being conducted by Dapodi police.
In a separate case, a case was registered against Naim Ishaq Shaikh, 50, a resident of Mohannagar in Chinchwad. Assistant Police Sub-Inspector Meraj Jamoddin Saudagar of the Hinjewadi traffic division lodged the complaint.
According to police, Shaikh was stopped during a check on the highway at Wakad Naka and was found displaying a fake emblem resembling that of a Maharashtra Legislative Assembly member, along with the Ashoka emblem, on the windshield of his Swift car.
Police said the action was taken for allegedly misleading people with a fraudulent intent by falsely projecting himself as an MLA.
