Pune: ‘Fake’ Police Officers Try To Rob Deputy Director Of Town Planning By Pretending To Be Anti-Corruption Bureau

Warje, 25th June 2022: The incident took place when the ‘Fake’ police tried to rob the deputy director of the town planning department by pretending to be an officer of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB). The fake police demanded a extortion of Rs five lakh under the pretext of action.

The deputy director asked the police for the mobile number of the senior police officer. Fearing being caught, the fake police and accomplices passed out. The Deputy Director of Town Planning has complained to Warje Police Station under Pune city police.

Two days ago, the police came to his house and pretended to be from the office of the Anti-Corruption Bureau in Mumbai.

“A woman came to your office two days ago. She had asked for a zoning certificate. At that time, someone in your office asked the woman for money. Your name has been mentioned in this case, so we want to search the house immediately,” fake police told the deputy director.

They demanded Rs five lakh to avoid the action. However, the deputy director got suspicious with their asked the number of their senior officer to speak on phone.

After that, Warje police got information about this action. Warje police sub-inspector Trupti Patil went there. At that time, the fake police officer tried to get the number of senior officer from Sub-Inspector Patil. Under the pretext of talking to senior officers, the fake police and accomplices escaped.

Police are further investigating the case.
