Pune: Faraskhana Police Arrest Two Wanted Murder Suspects From Surat

Budhwar Peth, 4th August 2021: Faraskhana police station officials have arrested two persons from Surat city in connection with the murder of a homeless man here Tuesday. Police tracked down the two based on CCTV footage.

 

The arrested accused is identified as Sitaram Ramkaran Bagri (35, resident of Kota, Rajasthan). His minor accomplice has been detained. A case of murder has been registered at Faraskhana police station against them.

 

An unidentified person was found injured at Shahir Amar Sheikh Chowk on the morning of July 27. He was rushed to Sassoon Hospital for treatment. He died of head injuries, the autopsy report said. After it was revealed that he had been murdered, Faraskhana police started searching for the killers. Meanwhile, some citizens had seen a homeless man being beaten with a stick by two men selling umbrellas at night. So the police checked the footage of CCTV cameras on the road and at the chowk.

 

On the sidewalk next to the railway colony, two occupants of the tent came out with sticks and were found beating a homeless man. While searching for the accused, the police came to know that they were living in Surat city in Gujarat.

 

Accordingly, under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Rajendra Landage, a team comprising Assistant Police Inspector Abhijit Patil and policemen Mehbub Mokashi, Akash Valmiki, Abhinay Chaudhary, Vaibhav Swamy and Rishikesh Dighe arrested the two suspects from Surat.

 

This action was taken under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 1) Dr Priyanka Naranware.
