Indapur, 30 August 2021: A farmer distributed the capsicum free to people and later threw it on the road out of frustration over the price crash.

Navnath Rajguru got angry when he reached the market with his capsicum produce to sell it and found that the price has crashed as low as Rs 2 per Kg. Angered with the price crash he started distributing it for free in Indapur and later threw it away on the Pune-Solapur highway.

Navnath said he had spent over Rs 5 lakh for the capsicum produce over a period of three months but when he reached the market the price was very low hence threw it away on the road. The incident took place on the afternoon of 29 August.

He appealed to the government to come up with a minimum support price (MSP) for capsicum so that farmers like him do not suffer from price crashes.
