Pune: Fatal Accident at NIBM Road, Two Feared Dead; Traffic Diversion Implemented
Kondhwa, 21st May 2023: An accident took place at Palace Orchards on NIBM Road, where a bus collided with multiple vehicles including cars, motorcycles, a small tempo, and an auto-rickshaw. The impact of the accident was severe, resulting in the potential loss of two lives and several injuries. As a result, the road has been closed, leading to the diversion of traffic in the area. The accident took place around 7 pm.
The residents living along the road have been consistently raising concerns about the lack of speed breakers and the unrestricted movement of heavy vehicles. Unfortunately, their pleas for necessary safety measures have been ignored so far.
Local authorities have stated that the road will remain closed until the investigation into the accident is complete. In the meantime, alternative routes have been arranged for commuters. Vehicles are being diverted through Undri road, passing by Sanskriti School, and the Kutccha road near D-Mart, as the section between Cloud 9 and Sunshree Kangan is closed due to ongoing roadwork.
