Pune: Father Kidnapped Over Love Affair of Son, Rescued Within 12 Hours; Three Arrested

Hadapsar, 5th February 2025: A man was kidnapped from his house in Hadapsar over his son’s love affair. However, the Hadapsar police successfully rescued him within 12 hours and arrested three people in connection with the case. One accused remains absconding.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Abhijit Dattatray Bhosale (22), Ranjit Ramesh Dikole (21), and Maruti Ashok Gaikwad (23). Their accomplice, Sagar Khurangale, is on the run, and a search operation is underway. A case has been registered against the accused at Hadapsar Police Station.
According to the police, a young man from Hadapsar was in a relationship with a woman from Wagholi. Her family was against their relationship. On February 3, when the woman went missing, her family suspected the young man’s involvement. They confronted his family at their residence in Hadapsar, leading to an argument.
Later that night, around 11 PM, the woman’s relatives, along with the accused, forcibly entered the young man’s house. They threatened his father, forced him onto a motorcycle, and kidnapped him. His mother immediately alerted the police control room about the abduction.
Upon receiving the information, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 5) Dr. Rajkumar Shinde visited the spot. The police learned that the accused had taken the victim to Wadebolhai and Kesanand before heading towards Barshi. Acting swiftly, the police set up a trap at the Patas toll plaza on the Pune-Solapur highway and successfully rescued the victim.
The operation was carried out by teams led by Senior Inspector Sanjay Mogle, with Crime Branch Police Inspector Nilesh Jagdale, Assistant Inspector Arjun Kudale, and Sub-Inspector Mahesh Kavale.
The police are continuing their investigation and efforts to apprehend the absconding accused.
