Pune Feels Winter Chill as Minimum Temperature Drops by Six Degrees in Three Days
Pune, 9th November 2025: The city’s weather has taken a noticeable turn in the past few days, with the minimum temperature plunging by six degrees Celsius over the last three days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that the weather will remain stable for the next three days, after which both minimum and maximum temperatures are expected to drop further, signaling the onset of winter in Pune.
According to IMD officials, multiple weather systems are currently active across the country, influencing temperature changes in western Maharashtra. A cyclonic circulation is present in the upper levels over the east-central Bay of Bengal and eastern Bangladesh. Similar conditions prevail over the Gulf of Mannar and the adjoining Comorin region. In addition, a low-level trough extending from the southwest Bay of Bengal across Kerala, Sri Lanka, and Tamil Nadu remains active.
“Due to these ongoing systems, Pune will continue to experience stable weather for the next few days. However, from midweek onward, temperatures are expected to fall further,” said an IMD scientist.
The city has already started to feel the chill over the weekend. While the maximum temperature remained steady on Saturday, the minimum temperature saw a sharp dip, contributing to cool mornings and evenings. Residents reported mild drizzles in some parts of the city, particularly during the early hours and late nights, adding to the wintry feel.
On Sunday (November 9), IMD has predicted stable maximum temperatures across Pune and its surrounding areas. However, Punekars can expect colder mornings and evenings in the days ahead as winter gradually sets in.
