Pune Fights COVID19: ‘My Family, My Responsibility’ Campaign Reaches Aundh-Baner

Aundh/Baner, September 21, 2020: Implementation of ‘My family, my responsibility’ campaign has reached in Aundh and Baner as well. This campaign is to ensure that no Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) suspected patients are missed out of the radar of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC). The campaign that was rolled on September 14 might go on till October 24 informed officials from the district administration.

Under this program, every person will be screened to ensure early isolation of COVID19 patients, and if required, they will be tested for the deadly virus. Local Corporators, NGOs, ward officers are instructed to work in coordination to implement this campaign successfully.

Assistant Municipal Commissioner of Aundh-Baner ward Jaydeep Pawar informed, “We have already started to inspect all the houses that are coming under Aundh and Baner ward office jurisdiction. Our team are checking the temperature and oxygen level of people in all the houses. During the inspection, people who have any ailments related to diabetes, heart, kidney, etc., their data will be registered with us.”

Pawar further said, “In the second round, comorbid people their temperature and oxygen level will be measured again. The point of this exercise is to find suspected COVID19 patients.”

Talking to Punekarnews.in, Corporator Sunita Wadekar said, “People who are staying inside housing societies do not get tested from the fear that they will be kept in isolation. To the people residing in Chikhalwadi and Bopodi (containment zones) who have any symptoms, I request you all to come forward and get tested so that medication can be done on time.”

Wadekar added, “Our family was kept in isolation as well because my husband Parusharam Wadekar was affected, but he is doing well now because we suspected the symptoms at an early stage. So I request you to participate in this campaign and take responsibility for your family.”
