Pune: FIR Against Fatehchand Ranka And Others For Violating Section 144 During Traders Protest

Pune, 9th April 2021: The Pune City Police has registered a case against Fatehchand Ranka, president of the Federation of Trade Association of Pune (FTAP), and 33 other traders for violating section 144 during a protest on Laxmi Road on Thursday.

 

Based on a complaint from Head Constable Ganesh Shirke, the FIR has been registered at Vishrambag Police station.

 

On Thursday, the federation had organised a protest to oppose the lockdown imposed by the government. Members of many traders associations had participated. They had made a human chain and organised a march from Vijay Talkies Chowk to Umbrya Ganpati Chowk.

 

Currently, section 144 has been imposed in the city and there is a ban on the gathering of more than five people at a place. Police said that the rule has been violated by the federation while organising the protest.
