Pune: Fire Breaks out at Mattress Factory in Kondhwa, No Casualties Reported
Pune, 31st March 2026: A major fire was reported at a mattress manufacturing factory located in Lane No. 6 of Vrindavan Society near Aai Mata Temple in Kondhwa Khurd on Monday. No injuries or casualties were reported in the incident, said officials.
Fire brigade teams from Gangadham and Kondhwa Khurd fire stations were immediately rushed to the spot. Firefighters deployed hose lines and used continuous water jets to control the blaze. Officials said parts of the structure were broken open to access the fire and bring it under control.
The fire brigade team said timely action helped them prevent a major incident as the fire was major and the factory had items that could spread the blaze in the nearby localities. The owner of the factory suffered major financial losses as material kept inside was completely gutted in the incident, a fire brigade official said.
The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
