Pune: Fire Breaks Out Due To Bursting Of MNGL Gas Line At Balewadi
Balewadi, 15th March 2023: An MNGL channel burst in front of the SKP campus at Balewadii and a huge fire broke out. The incident happened at around 5.00 pm today. The fire was immediately extinguished by the firemen and no casualties were reported.
Hinjewadi Shivajinagar Metro work is currently underway in Balewadi. While digging a pit with the help of JCB for metro work in front of the SKP campus, the MNGL gas line was hit and the gas leakage started resulting in the fire.
As soon as the information was received, the jawans from the Pashan fire station reached the spot on time and extinguished the fire completely. Officials of MMGL Company were present at the spot.
Pashan Fire Station Officer Shivaji Memane, Driver Yuvraj Jadhav, Jawan Balraj Sangam, Rohit Pushparaj, Balasaheb Karande, Helper Jawan Siddharth Jogdand, Aniket Jogdand, Rohidas Chaudhary carried out the said operation.
It is also informed by the MNGL that the gas supply will be restored by 9.00 pm today.
Amol Balwadkar, Corporator, PMC informed, “We have already taken necessary steps to avoid any mishap, and simultaneously had a discussion with MNGL gas authorities to restore the supply.”
