Pune Fire Brigade Swiftly Controls Blaze at Building on Bhandarkar Road

Pune, 29th May 2024: At approximately 12:58 PM, a fire broke out at the seven-storey ‘Karan Sohail’ building on Bhandarkar Road in Pune. The fire originated on the terrace, where an office constructed of metal sheets and sliding panels caught fire. The Pune Fire Brigade control room promptly dispatched a vehicle and a water tanker from Erandwane and Kothrud Substations.

Upon arrival, firefighters ensured there were no trapped individuals before ascending to the seventh floor. Utilizing hose pipes, they swiftly sprayed water, bringing the fire under control within about 20 minutes. Cooling operations are currently underway.

Fortunately, there were no injuries or casualties reported. The building, utilized for commercial purposes, houses several offices. The firefighters’ timely response contained the fire, preventing its escalation and averting a potential disaster. Moreover, they safely evacuated numerous workers from the premises. While the exact cause of the fire remains undetermined, Fire Chief Devendra Potphode is overseeing operations, with support from fire officers Rajesh Jagtap, Gajanan Pathrudkar, and approximately 20 firefighters actively engaged at the scene.
